About Dr. Kelsey
I am on a mission to provide accessible, informative and inspiring health information to individuals and couples who are motivated to improve their health before conception. I see this specialty area of medicine as a public health priority. Epigenetics has proven that optimizing the health of mom AND dad before egg and sperm meet to make a baby has DIRECT impact on the health of the baby. As a naturopathic doctor, I have extensive experience working with individuals balancing their hormones, improving their nutrition, digestion, sleep, mood and thyroid. I pull tools from a variety of resources when it comes to treatments and education. Speaking of education, that is largely what you will find on this site. I aim to spread as much knowledge as I can for those interested in reading; interested in enacting the targeted lifestyle enhancements to their lives that can improve the health of their babies, their grand babies and generations to come.
Join me as we explore, together, the impact health can have on your fertility, ease of pregnancy, labor & delivery and the health of your baby.
I am a licensed naturopathic doctor residing in Portland, Oregon. I have a ND degree from the National University of Natural Medicine and practice with another stellar practitioner as the team of Nature’s Path Family Wellness. I earned my undergraduate degree from the University of California, San Diego in US History with an emphasis in gender & sexuality. It was there where my passion for understanding motherhood and the transition of woman to mother is viewed in our culture and cultures around the world. My personal research focused on the social influence on birth and how women perceived the physical experience of giving birth. I believe birth is an opportunity for immense empowerment for women and I am passionate about inspiring women to harness their power and strength, rather than let fear or the institutionalism of birth take over.
Additionally, my more recent work has been focused on supporting couples optimize their health in the postpartum period. The healthier new parents are, the more present they can be and the more they can provide for their family.
