A Functional Approach to Healthcare
Individualized healthcare uncovering the root cause of symptoms
I believe healthcare is most effective as a comprehensive, deep investigation of the signals and symptoms from the body to uncover the root cause of imbalances and direct treatment. A functional approach to health requires active participation from the patient and the results can be long-lasting, a pivotal shift in enhancing overall health & thriving in life.
The root cause approach to healthcare is what I am dedicated to practicing.
My approach often involves functional testing to understand, on a deeper level, where imbalances may be. Tests are often chosen to investigate the body system that I think could be the root cause of the symptom. I see so much empowerment for patients in comprehensive testing to validate or rule out underlying causes of symptoms. Symptoms I often see and treat include:
Fatigue, insomnia
Preconception, fertility, history of pregnancy loss
PMS, pelvic pain, painful periods, irregular periods, PCOS
Abdominal pain, constipation, diarrhea, reflux, gas, bloating, SIBO, IBD, IBS
Allergies: food & environmental
Pediatrics: rashes, abdominal symptoms, ENT, food allergies, developmental delays
Mood symptoms: anxiety, depression, mood swings, ADHD, PPD, PPA
Thyroid imbalances, skin rashes, headaches, histamine intolerance/MCAS, EBV
Methylation defects/MTHFR, comprehensive genetic education
For those wanting to grow their family, I have created a strategic, effective and individualized program, Fertile Future.
I also specialize in nutrigenomics: the science behind how nutrition and specific nutrients impact healthy function of our genes. By testing individual’s genetic variants, we get targeted information on which specific nutrients are best to improve symptoms and underlying imbalances. This is one of my trusted approaches for patients trying to get pregnant, have a history of miscarriage, are experiencing postpartum mood symptoms, life-long anxiety, depression, headaches and/or estrogen dominance symptoms.
