A Functional Approach to Healthcare
Individualized healthcare for your growing family
I believe healthcare should be comprehensive, looking at the signals and symptoms from the body and investigating the root cause to those imbalances to direct treatment. A functional approach to health is often one that takes more time, more effort from the side of the patient and has significantly longer lasting effects.
The root cause approach to healthcare is what I am dedicated to practicing.
My approach with most patients involves functional testing to understand, on a deeper level, where imbalances may be. Tests are often chosen to investigate the body system that I think could be the root cause of the symptom. I see so much empowerment for patients in comprehensive testing to validate or rule out underlying causes of symptoms. Symptoms I often see and treat include:
Fatigue
Insomnia
PMS, pelvic pain, painful periods, irregular periods, PCOS, urinary symptoms
Abdominal pain, constipation, diarrhea, reflux, gas, bloating, SIBO, IBD, IBS
Allergies: food & environmental
Pediatrics: rashes, abdominal symptoms, ENT, food allergies, developmental delays
Mood symptoms: anxiety, depression, mood swings, ADHD, PPD, PPA
Thyroid imbalances, skin rashes, headaches, histamine intolerance/MCAS, EBV
Methylation defects/MTHFR, comprehensive genetic education
I also specialize in nutrigenomics, which is the science behind how nutrition and specific nutrients impacts the healthy function of our genetics. I love the opportunity to test patient’s genetics and use that information to prescribe very specific nutrients based on how their body is wired. This is usually one of my trusted approaches for patients trying to get pregnant, with a history of miscarriage, postpartum mood symptoms, life-long anxiety, depression, headaches and estrogen dominance symptoms.

The World
I am passionate about spreading my approach to health and optimizing your wellbeing, so I also offer virtual consultations if you live further from the Portland area. Here is how it works:
I work with you over the phone or video. Our time together is similar to how it would be in person. We discuss any questions you may have about your health and how to optimize your health. Virtual consultations are best to:
Help you understand new or confusing diagnoses
Discuss recent lab findings and how they may be tied to symptoms
Clarify specific health care goals and keep accountability
Support you in implementing treatment recommendations from your doctor
Be a trusted source for medical information
Supportive care while undergoing Advanced Reproductive Technologies (ART)
My goal is to limit the time we work together. While I have a feeling I will LOVE working with you, I want to educate you on your health, get you feeling better as soon as possible and check in as needed once your health goals are achieved. Most patients find they are better served with more care in the beginning, then maintenance visits over time.
Rates for telemedicine visits are the same as in person.
What I cannot provide for distance care
I offer educational consults for patients who cannot travel to be seen in-person. These consults are educational in nature and are meant to provide access to information regarding particular health conditions to those that do not have access to such information close to home. I am not able to provide diagnoses or order certain labs. These consults are not a substitute for proper medical care.
